Our guest is Renee Cherez, a person who embodies the true meaning of digital nomad.. She’s a former New York City school teacher who left it all behind to scratch her travel itch and love of other cultures. She first came to our attention for an article she wrote for Lonely Planet—Why Jamaica is the Perfect Kid Friendly Destination. After our initial discussion we discovered a fascinating tale of global travel adventure that left us speechless.
She set out on her first solo trip in 2017 to Southeast Asia—Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal and India. She was gone for 67 days. Listen as she tells you what it’s like to travel as a solo Black female traveler to places she’s never been, and why she prefers to go it alone.
“I have been tested emotionally, physically, mentally, intellectually, and spiritually and I can only describe it as beautiful chaos,” says Cherez.
For now, this Jamaican native has settled in Mexico. Listen as she tell us why Mexico? It might make you re-thinking your life choices.
Could you be a digital nomad?
