Delta Air Lines, one of the largest and most popular airlines in the United States, is continuing to grow its presence and service in the Caribbean region. The airline has announced several new routes and flights to various destinations in the Caribbean, as well as increased capacity and frequency for existing ones. Here are some of the highlights of Delta’s expansion plans for 2024.

Delta is adding 30 percent more capacity to Latin America and the Caribbean next winter with more flights to popular destinations from Costa Rica to San Juan. The airline will plan to fly more than 1,000 weekly flights to Latin America and the Caribbean next year, announced on Friday. This will be in the form of added seasonal frequencies on Saturdays to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Guatemala, San José, Liberia, San Juan, Cancun, Punta Cana, and Montego Bay. The added routes will all launch on Jan. 13, 2024, from Atlanta, New York, Detroit, Minneapolis, and Boston. Each of these flights will include the airline’s first class cabin, Delta Comfort+, and the airline’s Main Cabin¹.

The airline is also adding another new route to the Caribbean this winter: a nonstop flight between Atlanta and Cartagena. In another boost for the booming destination on the Caribbean coast of Colombia, Delta will be launching a new service on Dec. 22. The flight will operate four times a week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with first class seats and main cabin seats.

Delta is also increasing its flight capacity to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean in time for the holiday season this year as well as adding a new flight between New York’s LaGuardia Airport and Nassau. And in December 2023 ,the airline will resume flying to Curaçao for the first time in more than a decade. It is also adding more flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean. Delta is adding a third daily flight between New York and Cancun, along with a second daily flight from New York to Punta Cana. The flights will operate using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with first class seats, Delta Comfort+ seats, and main cabin seats.
