If you are looking for a winter getaway, Alaska Airlines has some great news for you. The airline is launching four new routes to various destinations in the Caribbean, including its first-ever service to the Bahamas. You can fly nonstop from Los Angeles and Seattle to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, and enjoy the pristine beaches and crystal clear waters of this Caribbean island.
Nassau is a popular tourist destination that offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors of all ages and interests. You can explore the historic downtown area, visit the Atlantis resort and casino, shop at the Straw Market, or take a boat tour to nearby islands such as Paradise Island and Eleuthera. You can also relax on the white sand beaches, snorkel or scuba dive in the coral reefs, or try your luck at one of the many casinos.
Alaska Airlines will operate four flights per week from Los Angeles and three flights per week from Seattle to Nassau using Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft. The flights will depart in the late afternoon from both Los Angeles and Seattle, allowing you to arrive in Nassau in time for dinner or nightlife. The flights will end in April 9, 2024.
The new route is part of Alaska Airlines’ strategy to expand its network and offer more choices to its customers. The airline has been adding more international destinations since it resumed service after being grounded by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Excited about the new service, Bahamas Prime Minister Hon. Philip E. Davis said, “We are thrilled to share in the anticipation of Alaska Airlines’ inaugural flight to the pristine shores of the Bahamas, opening a treasure trove of experiences for travelers.”
Nuvolari Chotoosingh, Manager of Niche Markets at the Ministry of Tourism in Grand Bahama, stated, “The new service was the result of months of negotiations. We are very excited to welcome Alaska Airlines to our market and look forward to working with them to promote our destination.”
